LIVINGSTON, Ala. - With three games remaining in the regular season, the University of West Alabama Football team has put themselves in position to obtain a playoff spot as the NCAA announced the Tigers as one of the eight teams under consideration in the Super Region Two on Monday.
Wednesday's announcement marks the first release of the NCAA Division II Region rankings of the year. For the first release, teams are placed into alphabetical order with the first official listed rankings coming next week.
UWA is currently 6-1 on the year, with noticeable wins over Miles, West Florida, and Limestone. After a fast start through the first seven games, the Tigers are set to finish out the regular season with matchups against North Greenville, Shorter, and Erskine.
West Alabama now has their sights solely on North Greenville as they welcome the Trailblazers to Tiger Stadium on Hall of Fame Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. GSC matchup.
