Livingston, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team earned their second win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Stillman College on Wednesday, October 9, at Pruitt Hall.
The Tigers improved to 2-14 overall, while Stillman dropped to 5-13.
West Alabama started strong, winning the first two sets 25-21 and 25-19 before dropping the third set 25-18. However, they bounced back in the fourth set with a 25-10 victory, securing the match. The Tigers posted an impressive .219 hitting percentage for the match compared to Stillman's .031.
KB Kinney led the charge for UWA with a career-high 14 points, 12 kills, and two service aces.
Jaida Alvin contributed 11 kills, on a .318 hitting percentage, and added a service ace, while
Peyton Quesnel chipped in with nine kills and three blocks. Setter
Taylor Lamontagne distributed the offense well, racking up a career-high 35 assists and adding four aces and eight digs.
West Alabama will look to carry this momentum as they travel to face West Florida on Friday, October 11th, at 6:00 p.m. in a Gulf South Conference matchup.
