MEMPHIS, Tenn. - West Alabama (2-28, 0-20 Gulf South) wrapped up their 2024 volleyball season with a three-set loss to Christian Brothers (8-22, 4-16 Gulf South) on Saturday afternoon in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Bucs secured the victory in straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-13) behind efficient offensive play and solid defensive contributions. Â
The Tigers were led by
KB Kinney, who posted eight kills, followed by
Jaida Alvin with five.
Taylor Lamontagne dished out 12 assists, while
Maggie Roddam tallied a team-high seven digs.
Cloe Bonvillain contributed three service aces to round out UWA's highlights. Â
Christian Brothers displayed a dominant offensive performance, hitting .392 as a team. Ella Schumacher paced the Lady Bucs with 11 kills, and setter Sarah Allyn Thornell orchestrated the attack with 27 assists. Defensively, Tia Rizvi and Aileen Zavala each notched nine digs to hold UWA at bay. Â
With this result, West Alabama's challenging season has ended, as they now look ahead to offseason preparations and the 2025 campaign.
