LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Football team picked up another GSC Weekly Award on Monday as Davonta Jackson was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Jackson earns his second GSC Defensive Player of the Week nod after leading a UWA defense that held North Greenville to 14 points this past Saturday. In the game, Jackson recorded 4.0 tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception. The Defensive lineman's 4.0 tackles for loss sits as the third most in a game by a player in the conference this season.
Alongside his individual numbers, Jackson bolstered the Tigers' defensive line that helped hold North Greenville to 59 rushing yards on 35 attempts.
Jackson and West Alabama continues their special 2024 season on Saturday when they travel to Rome, Georgia for an 11:00 a.m. CST matchup against the Shorter Hawks.
