LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Football's
Trevon Lambert has been named a nominee for the 2024 Harlon Hill Award and a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award.
The Harlon Award is the Division II version of the Heisman Trophy as the award goes to the Most Valuable Player in the country. For the Gene Upshaw Award, the award is given to the most outstanding Senior Defensive or Offensive Lineman in the country.
Lambert is in consideration for both of these awards after turning in the best season of his career. In 2024, The graduate student recorded a career-high 11.0 sacks, ranking third in the country in both total sacks and sacks per game. On top of his sack total, the Edge Rusher also accumulated 14.5 tackles for loss and registered 10 QB hurries, leading West Alabama to one of the best defensive seasons in school history.
Lambert now concludes his UWA career with 17.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles in 23 career games.
