Tigers Face AUM Thursday, Host Mississippi College Friday for Annual Dig Pink Game

LIVINGSTON, Ala. — The University of West Alabama volleyball team heads to Montgomery on Thursday to face Auburn University at Montgomery at 6 p.m., before returning home Friday to host Mississippi College in the annual Dig Pink match at Pruitt Hall.

The Tigers (6-12, 2-9 GSC) are looking to bounce back and close out the season series against the Warhawks after sweeping them 3-0 at home on September 25. West Alabama aims to snap a nine-match losing streak following a challenging road trip in Tennessee, where the Tigers fell in five sets to Union before being swept by Christian Brothers.

Despite the recent setbacks, UWA has shown steady offensive production throughout Gulf South Conference play. Katerina Korre, KB Kinney, and Cadence Goeden continue to pace the Tigers at the net, while Jazlyn Snow and setter Jana Petkovic have provided consistent support on both offense and defense. In recent matches, outside hitter KB Kinney has stepped into a dual role, sharing setting duties alongside Petkovic to help guide the Tigers' offense.

Auburn Montgomery (3-16, 2-9 GSC) enters Thursday's matchup coming off a four-set win over Valdosta State but has won just one of its last three matches. The Warhawks will look to defend home court and even the season series after falling to the Tigers in Livingston last month.

When the two teams last met, West Alabama dominated offensively, tallying 39 kills and a .430 hitting percentage, led by Cadence Goeden and KB Kinney

Following Thursday's match, West Alabama returns home to Pruitt Hall on Friday, Oct. 24, to host Mississippi College in their annual Dig Pink match. The Choctaws are coming off a tough loss to Union, falling in five sets. With that loss, the Choctaws are now 8-13 overall and 5-6 in conference play.

The last time these two teams met, UWA secured 26 kills and a .036 hitting percentage. The Tigers will look to even the season series in front of their home crowd while trying to regain momentum in Gulf South Conference play.
