LIVINGSTON, Ala. — The West Alabama Tigers will hit the road Tuesday, Oct. 28, as they travel to Fairfield, Ala., to take on Miles College in a non-conference matchup.
UWA enters the game riding momentum from Friday night's four-set win over Mississippi College at Pruitt Hall, where the Tigers overcame a third-set slip to secure a 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 25-16 victory. The Tigers got off to a strong start in the first two sets, fueled by efficient hitting and key contributions from Cadence Goeden and Klára Bobánová. KB Kinney had a standout night, recording her first career triple-double with 13 kills, 22 assists, and 13 digs, while Jana Petkovic provided steady setting to keep the offense flowing. UWA rebounded from Mississippi College's third-set push to close out the match decisively, showcasing a balanced attack and timely defensive plays.
The Tigers also have a recent history against Miles College to build on. The last time the two teams met was Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Pruitt Hall, where UWA swept the Golden Bears 3-0. In that matchup, KB Kinney tallied 12 kills, while Jazlyn Snow had 11 kills and made history by hitting an incredible .917 on 11-of-12 attempts, setting a program benchmark for efficiency.
Miles College enters Tuesday's matchup with a 15-12 overall record and has been dominant at home, riding a six-game home win streak. The Golden Bears also come in on a two-game overall win streak, including a hard-fought five-set victory over Lane College in their most recent outing.
