Tigers Host CBU and Union in Final Regular Season Matches

LIVINGSTON, Ala. — With a spot in the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Tournament on the line, the University of West Alabama volleyball team returns to Pruitt Hall this week for its final regular-season matches, hosting Christian Brothers University on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Union University on Friday at 6 p.m. in Pruitt Hall (Livingston, Ala.).

The Tigers (10-16, 5-13 GSC) are coming off a hard-fought four-set battle against West Florida last weekend, where they recorded 40 kills, including 18 in the second set. Cloe Bonvillain led the defensive effort with a career-high 17 digs, while Klára Bobánová and Katerina Korre paced the attack during the team's 25-21 second-set win.

Christian Brothers (12-16, 7-10 GSC) enters Thursday's matchup on a four-game winning streak, highlighted by statement victories over Montevallo and Alabama Huntsville. Addison Wagner has led the Buccaneers offensively with 17 kills in each of those wins, while setter Carleiny Morillo continues to fuel the attack with 44 assists against Montevallo and 32 against UAH.

Union (5-20, 3-15 GSC) will close out the Tigers' regular-season slate on Friday night. The Bulldogs enter the matchup on a two-game skid, most recently falling 3-0 to Montevallo. Elizabeth Gilbert led Union with 12 kills in that contest, while Sara-Kate Savage anchored the defense with 17 digs.

With postseason implications at stake, West Alabama looks to capitalize on its home-court advantage and secure a spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament with strong performances in its final two matches.
