Tigers Return Home to Face UAH in Key GSC Showdown

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team returns home tomorrow, Tuesday, September 30, to host Alabama Huntsville (UAH) at 6 p.m. in a Gulf South Conference showdown at Pruitt Hall.

The Tigers (6–4, 2–1 GSC) are eager to recover after the end of a six-match winning streak, UWA's longest since 2011, which was snapped in a hard-fought four-set loss at Mississippi College. In that match, UWA showed flashes of dominance in the third set and remained competitive throughout, Gracie Pierscinski and Jana Petkovic.

UWA entered conference play on a high, securing a thrilling win over Montevallo and a sweep of Auburn Montgomery. Against Montevallo, Bobánová tallied 21 kills and 11 digs, while Goeden added 18 kills. Against AUM, the Tigers produced a .430 team hitting percentage, their strongest showing in years, led by Goeden's 14 kills and Petkovic's 36 assists.

Moreover, UAH enters tomorrow's match with a 9–3 overall record and a 1–2 mark in conference play. The Chargers recently claimed a critical 3–0 home sweep over Lee to capture their first Gulf South Conference win. As a team, UAH ranks second in the GSC in both attack percentage and blocks per set. Individually, freshman Caroline Moyer has already drawn attention, earning GSC Offensive Player of the Week following standout performances in recent matches.

With both teams looking to climb the Gulf South standings, tomorrow's matchup promises to deliver an exciting atmosphere at Pruitt Hall as the Tigers aim to defend their home court and return to the win column. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
