LIVINGSTON, Ala. – University of West Alabama volleyball sophomore Klára Bobánová has earned her second Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season following a pair of standout performances in road victories over Valdosta State and Auburn Montgomery.
Bobánová totaled 45 kills across eight sets, averaging 5.63 kills per set while hitting .425 as the Tigers completed a perfect conference road weekend. She earned UWA Player of the Match honors in both victories.
The sophomore opened the weekend with a match-high 30 kills and 15 digs in Friday's five-set victory over Valdosta State. Bobánová hit .375 on 64 attempts, helping West Alabama overcome a 2-1 match deficit. She delivered the final kill in the deciding set to secure the Tigers' 23-25, 27-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-9 victory.
Bobánová carried that momentum into Saturday's matchup at AUM, leading all players with 15 kills on 23 attempts. She committed just two attack errors for a .565 hitting percentage while adding three block assists and a service ace. Her offensive production helped the Tigers complete the sweep by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-9.
The recognition follows Bobánová's first weekly honor on Oct. 13, when she was recognized for her performances against Miles, Trevecca Nazarene and Lee.
Through 27 matches, Bobánová leads the GSC in kills per set (3.54) and points per set (4.02), while ranking ninth in hitting percentage (.319). She has recorded 315 kills and 358 points this season, along with 133 digs, 39 total blocks and 20 service aces.
