LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Tennis' Afonso Portugal and Maksim Goncharov collect GSC Weekly Awards on Wednesday.

Portugal earns back-to-back GSC Player of the Week honors after extending his winning streak to nine matches in singles. As for Goncharov, he went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles on the week.

Portugal led UWA to a 2-0 week, with wins coming over No. 17 Mississippi College and Valdosta State. Against the Choctaws, the Graduate won 6-3 in doubles alongside Goncharov before defeating Simon Pfau, (6-3, 7-5) in singles.

Against Valdosta State, Portugal took home a 6-2 victory in doubles. In singles, the Graduate concluded the week with a (7-5, 6-2) win over Wilson Igbinovia on Line Two.

Similar to Portugal, Goncharov put together a perfect week. The freshman served as Portugal's partner in doubles on the week while also shining in singles play. Against No. 17 MC, Goncharov defeated Mikaela Avanesyan, (6-3, 6-3) before earning a, (7-5, 6-4) decision over VSU's Emile Delporte. 

Portugal and Goncharov will be back in action on Saturday for the Tigers final home match of the season against Wallace State.
