LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Despite an early exit from the conference tournament, West Alabama Tigers baseball continues to earn national recognition, checking in at No. 25 in the latest American Baseball Coaches Association Coaches Poll.
The Tigers remain one of the top teams in the country following a strong regular season that saw them compile a 34-15 overall record and secure the top seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament. West Alabama spent much of the season ranked among the nation's elite, backed by consistent performances on both the mound and at the plate.
Even after dropping two games in postseason play, UWA's résumé continues to stand out. The Tigers have notched key conference wins throughout the year and maintained one of the strongest overall records in the region, helping them remain inside the top 25 nationally.
West Alabama's pitching staff has been a cornerstone of its success, limiting opponents and keeping the Tigers competitive in nearly every outing. Offensively, UWA has shown the ability to produce timely hits, highlighted by multiple players contributing throughout the lineup over the course of the season.
Along with being No. 24 in the nation, the Tigers came in at No. 6 in the final edition of the Region Rankings before Selection Sunday.
With the conference tournament now complete, the Tigers shift their focus to the national stage as they await their postseason destination. The NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Selection Show will determine West Alabama's path forward, with the Tigers looking to build on their top-25 ranking and make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
