LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team continues Gulf South Conference play Tuesday night when the Tigers welcome Union University (Tenn.) to Pruitt Hall for a 6 p.m. first serve.
West Alabama enters the matchup following a 3-0 sweep of Mississippi Christian on Friday in its GSC opener. The victory extended UWA's streak to a school-record 25 consecutive sets won as the Tigers continued their strong start to the 2026 season.
The Tigers have not dropped a set during their current run and opened conference play by hitting .306 while holding Mississippi Christian to a .026 hitting percentage.
Tigers Extend Historic Run
West Alabama's conference-opening victory came in straight sets, with the Tigers earning set wins of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-19 against Mississippi Christian.
UWA finished with 39 kills and just nine attack errors on 98 attempts while adding seven total blocks and 47 digs.
Katerina Korre, named Player of the Match, led the Tigers with a match-high 15 kills on 27 attacks with just two errors. The junior finished with a .481 hitting percentage while adding four digs and a block assist.
Cadence Goeden added nine kills, while Klára Bobánová finished with seven.
Jazlyn Snow contributed four kills while hitting .333.
Freshman setter
Rachele Zanini directed the offense with 30 assists and 14 digs for a double-double, while
Bailey Keef added 12 digs.
The Tigers enter Tuesday hitting .290 as a team with 621 kills through 48 sets. UWA has held its opponents to a .123 hitting percentage with 438 kills.
Bobánová leads West Alabama with 123 kills while hitting .306, followed by Korre with 109 kills and a .326 hitting percentage. Snow has 91 kills and is hitting .350, while
Duru Seber has recorded 77 kills with a team-leading .433 hitting percentage.
Zanini has distributed 428 assists and averages 9.51 assists per set. Keef leads the defense with 169 digs, while UWA has also produced 116 service aces this season.
Scouting Union
Union comes to Livingston at 4-9 overall and 0-2 in GSC play following conference losses to Montevallo and Alabama Huntsville.
The Lady Bulldogs fell 3-0 to Montevallo on Friday before returning to Fred DeLay Gymnasium on Saturday for a 3-1 loss to UAH.
After UAH won the opening set 25-15, Union responded with a 25-19 victory in the second. The Chargers regained control with a 25-20 win in the third before closing the match with a 25-22 victory in the fourth.
Elizabeth Gilbert led Union with 10 kills against UAH. Parker Goff and Carly Edwards added seven kills each, while Carleigh Charles finished with six kills and three blocks.
Kylie Creech distributed 16 assists, while Avery Taylor added 10 assists and a team-high 10 digs. Sarah-Kate Savageand Caileigh Collins each recorded nine digs.
Union enters Tuesday hitting .147 as a team with 480 kills through 47 sets. Charles leads the Lady Bulldogs with 100 kills, while Edwards has recorded 93 and Gilbert has added 88.
Creech leads Union with 266 assists and 17 service aces. Collins has a team-high 123 digs, while Julia Stuible leads the Lady Bulldogs at the net with 32 total blocks.
Series History
Tuesday's meeting continues another closely contested series for West Alabama.
The Tigers hold a narrow 12-11 advantage over Union in the all-time series entering Tuesday night's conference matchup.
With only one match separating the programs in the series, Tuesday's contest will mark the 24th all-time meeting between West Alabama and Union.
