LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After guiding the University of West Alabama Volleyball team to a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Reddie-Tiger Challenge, freshmen Rachele Zanini and Duru Seber were named to the All-Tournament team.
Zanini and Seber were catalysts for UWA's sweeps over LeMoyne-Owen, Texas A&M International, and Erskine along with their five-set win over host, Henderson State.
Zanini has shined to begin her tenure at West Alabama and continued her excellence over the weekend. The Setter dished out 134 assists across the four matches and 14 sets, averaging 9.57 assists per set. The freshman also added 14 kills and 32 digs on the weekend.
For Seber, she was methodical in the middle for the Tigers. The redshirt freshman collected 31 kills on a .464 hitting percentage in three matches. Defensively, Seber was a force at the net as she recorded five blocks to accumulate 33.5 points over the weekend.Â
Both Zanini and Seber are nominees for GSC weekly awards which will be announced on Tuesday.Â
