Biography

2012: Spent the 2012 season as the ace in the Tiger pitching rotation…Became the first player in UWA history to be named a National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Association Pitcher of the Week after his 12-strikeout performance against Georgia Southwestern on Feb. 11…Finished one shy of his career high in strikeouts against Christian Brothers after fanning 11 batters in the closing series of the 2012 season…Meeks gave up double-digit hits only twice in 2012 and struck out at least two batters in each start…In his junior campaign, he led the team in strikeouts (84) and innings pitched (89), while finishing second on the squad in wins (7)…Was named the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week on three occasions and placed on the 2012 All-GSC  Second Team…One of two UWA athletes to be named to the 2012 GSC All-Academic Team and played on the GSC Honor Roll after tallying a 3.48 GPA in Physical Education.  
  
2011: Made 12 appearances, starting in 11 games for the Red and White...Pitched in 64 innings giving up 47 hits...Threw two complete games with a 3-6 overall record.

Prior to UWA: Played one season at East Central Community College in Decatur, Miss. … Appeared in 17 contests while totaling 55.0 innings pitched … Compiled a 3-1 record … Struck out 47 batters while issuing a free pass to just 18 … Allowed 26 earned runs for an ERA of 4.26.

High School: Played at Patrician Academy for Head Coach Jim Archibald … Two-sport athlete as he also played football for the Saints.
