Jocobby Robinson returned to UWA as the assistant coach in January of 2022.
Robinson played two seasons as a Tiger in 2013 and 2014 as a second baseman and centerfielder. He graduated from UWA in 2014 with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in Business. He was the Team-Captain and named to the Gulf South Conference First-Team as an outfielder.
Robinson, originally from Meridian, Miss., began his coaching career as a student assistant in 2015 and coached outfielders and assisted with hitting. He helped the Tigers win the GSC Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
In 2016, Robinson was an assistant coach for the Ontario Blue Jays Fall Travel Team and worked with outfielders and hitters.
In 2017, Robinson returned to UWA and was a volunteer assistant coach and continued his work with outfielders and hitters.
Robinson went to Young Harris College in 2018 and 2019. He was the assistant coach and head development coach. In 2019, he helped coach Young Harris to become the Peach Belt Tournament Champions and also helped brought in the #3 recruiting class.
After his stint at Young Harris, Robinson went to coach at Lee University during 2020 and 2021. He was the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. In 2021, he helped coach Lee to GSC Regular Season Champions and were ranked No. 2 during the season.
Robinson has coaches 14 players that have been selected in the MLB Draft, six All-Americans, eight All-Region players, and 25 All-Conference players.
Robinson is originally from Meridian, Miss. and graduated from Meridian High School. He was a member of the baseball team for three years and graduated in 2010.
Before transferring to UWA, he played two seasons at Holmes Community College where he was a member of the first ever North Division Championship team and Team-Captain. He was inducted into the HCC Sports Hall of Fame on April 1, 2021.
Robinson now resides in Livingston, Ala.
