Keeon Shaw is entering his second year as a defensive graduate assistant coach at UWA. As the lead graduate assistant, his responsibilities include assisting with coaching the defensive backs, assisting the special teams coordinator, runs scout teams, file scouting reports, break down film, and assists in the recruiting of transfers and JUCO players.
Shaw earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty in Business Marketing and Sport Management in 2015. The Jacksonville, Florida native, is on track to graduate from UWA with his masters in Sports Management in the spring of 2022.Â
Prior to UWA, Shaw was a defensive back coach, the head girls and boys track and field coach, and a high school teacher at Baker County High School in Glen Saint Mary, Florida. He taught a business elective course called Digital Information Technology.
Before Baker County High School, Shaw coached defensive backs and was the head junior varsity girls basketball coach. He taught college algebra and freshman leadership courses at Ed White High School in Jacksonville, Florida.Â
Shaw played quarterback at Ed White High School before continuing his career as a student- athlete at Brevard (N.C.) College and Liberty (Va.) University in the defensive secondary as a cornerback.
