Coach Stu Coggins joined the West Alabama football coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2022 season.

Coggins competed at nearby East Mississippi Community College from 2017-19 where he participated in football and baseball. He won a national and state championship at EMCC during the 2017 season. He went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in athletic training from EMCC in 2019.

Coggins then transferred to West Alabama where he assisted the strength and conditioning staff for two seasons. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science in 2021.

Before he started his collegiate career, Coggins was a two-year starter at Smithville High School in both football and baseball from 2015-17.
