Marques White was been named head strength and conditioning coach for University of West Alabama athletics in late July 2022.
 
White comes to UWA from Mercer University, where he served as assistant director of strength and conditioning, working with football, men’s lacrosse, beach volleyball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s cross country.
 
Prior to Mercer, White was at Western Carolina where he served as an athletic performance assistant and general fitness manager for Granite Bay Fitness.

White, 30, worked as an assistant director with the strength and conditioning staff at Susquehanna University where he assisted in the implementation, demonstration and training of over 20 teams, including football, hockey, soccer and lacrosse. Additionally, he ran a health and wellness boot camp for staff.

He also was a strength and conditioning intern at UNLV where he worked directly with the football program and assisted in the implementation of injury prevention and performance enhancement programs while creating individualized programs for freshman student-athletes.

From Folsom, California, White’s first collegiate experience came as an intern at Fresno State University where he worked with football and swimming, along with men’s and women’s basketball.

After a back injury cut his collegiate playing days as a defensive lineman short at Eastern Illinois, White earned his Associate’s Degree in social science from American River (Calif.) College, his Bachelor’s Degree from Thomas Edison State (N.J.) University in sociology and his Master’s from Concordia University Chicago in applied exercise science.
 
He and his wife, Se’Nyce, are the parents of two young children, Maelani and Malayah.
