2014-2015 (Junior): In one season Mayo became the program's fifth blocking leader with 70 total blocks ... Single game best came against North Alabama on the road when he posted seven ... Compiled 107 points (3.2 per game) and 104 rebounds (3.2 per game) ... Single-game season high of scoring was eight points which he posted on three occasions, last against Christian Brothers on Feb. 5, 2015 ... Most single-game rebounds of eight came against West Florida on Jan. 10, 2015. 

Prior to UWA: Received his Associates Degree from Western Oklahoma State College … Averaged four points, five rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field in 2013-14 … Scored season high of 11 points against Southwest Christian … Posted season high of rebounds of 14 against Southwest Christian … Season high of blocks against Eastern Oklahoma State College with nine.
 
High School: Graduated from Eagle Academy in 2011 … Played basketball for the Eagles under Coach Rodney Plummer.

Personal: Darkari Mayo was born on February 8 … Son of Edwin and Donnya Mayo … Sibling: Nukiya Mayo (16) … Majoring in sports management.

Coach Sharpe: “Dakari is an excellent addition to the West Alabama men’s basketball program.  He comes to UWA from a well-respected coach (Rolando De La Barrera) and program at Western Oklahoma State College.   We have developed a great relationship with Coach De La Barrera over the past few years and are glad we could continue that relationship by adding Dakari.  We will rely on his length and athleticism to bring a defensive presence to our team.  He averaged close to four blocks a game on a very good team at WOSC and will be looked upon to contribute right away.”
