Casey Curran

Casey Curran is set to begin her first season as the full time Assistant Coach for the UWA Volleyball Team after joining the program before the 2017 season as a graduate assistant. She arrives the staff after graduating from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2017.

While at NCCU, Curran received several honors including Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Academic Team (2016), MEAC Player of the Week (2016) and NCCU Student Athlete of the Month. During her junior year, She led the team with 644 assists and was named to  the University of South Carolina Gamecock Invitational All-Tournament Team and the James Madison University All-Tournament Team. As a senior, she led the Eagles in kills (181) and aces (17). 

Curran earned her Associates’ Degree from Iowa Western Community College in 2015 prior to arriving at NCCU. IWCC advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship Tournament after winning conference, regional and districts both seasons while she was there including as a #1 seed in 2014.

Prior to coming to UWA, she worked as an assistant volleyball coach at North Carolina Volleyball Academy for the 18 Diamond team.
