Maegan Coleman

Maegan Coleman accepted the position of assistant volleyball coach at West Alabama on April 8, 2020, filling out the staff of head coach Hilary Lobenstein.
 
Coleman joins the Tigers after serving a year as head coach of Lamar Community College. In here time at LCC, she worked fast to build the Runnin' Lopes program with the recruitment of 10 players in-state, out of state and internationally within a hiring date of two months before the season and raised $5000 to pay for travel and other expenses.  
 
During the 2019, Lamar ranked 13th in the nation for block solo, 32nd in in digs, and 37th in service aces.
 
Before heading to LCC, the native of Lancaster, Texas served as the head coach of the volleyball program with the Plano (Texas) Sport Authority from 2017-2019 where she organized, managed and supervised athletic activities, practice sessions, and tournaments
 
Coleman served as the graduate/assistant coach for the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2016-17. During her time as a member of the Monticello volleyball coaching staff, her responsibilities included planning and implementing workouts, game preparation, recruiting, and assisting as the offensive and defensive coordinator.
 
Coleman saw success while at UAM as an assistant coach, helping guide the Blossoms to school records in conference wins, attack percentage, digs and digs per set. She also was a part of two players being named All-Conference and receiving an AVCA Academic Team Award.
 
Before UAM, she was an assistant coach at Western Texas College. During her tenure there, three players were named First Team All-Conference who led the team to regional tournament runner ups.
 
Coleman completed her playing career at Prairie View A&M University and Tyler Junior College, where she shined on and off the court. She came to play for Tyler Junior College as a middle blocker and Prairie View A&M as a middle blocker and outside hitter. At Prairie View A&M, she helped the team win two SWAC Western Division titles. Coleman graduated from PVAMU in 2014. 
 
Coleman first gained coaching experience while volunteering with Prairie View A&M volleyball team, and club teams in the Texas area which included Texas One, Blocksport, and the 360 Volleyball Club.
 
Off the court, Coleman was awarded the Student-Athlete Academic Award three times, and the first student-athlete from Prairie View A&M to earn a Nike Internship in one of their corporate offices located in Culver City, California. She graduated from Prairie View A&M with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
