MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of West Alabama men's basketball team falls 45-30 at Christian Brothers on Saturday afternoon. The 30 points for the Tigers (3-5) is the lowest by an Eddie McCarter coached UWA squad. CBU improves to 9-2 on the season.
The hosts virtually led throughout and used a dominating defensive effort to secure the victory. CBU held the Tigers to just a 24.1 field goal percentage including a 3-22 performance from beyond the arc.
Leading the way in scoring for the Tigers,
Richard Dixon collected seven points in the contest, while
Ryan Fitch's eight rebounds were tops on the squad.
Scott Dennis led the Bucs with a 14-point, 20-rebound effort. Zach Warner tallied 14 points to round out the double digit scorers for CBU. Zac Warner also added 14 points for Christian Brothers.
The Bucs were not particularly impressive from the field either as they shot at 35.7 percent clip, but the team did outrebound West Alabama by a 45-31 margin.
West Alabama returns to action on Friday, Dec. 17 as UWA travels to the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Tip-off is approximately scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
