LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama baseball team returns to the diamond on Tuesday, Mar. 23 as UWA (16-9) hosts Auburn Montgomery in a midweek contest. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. The game will be available via live stats and a video stream at www.uwaathletics.com.
The Tigers are coming off of a series win over Lambuth this past weekend. The Red and White claimed the series holding off the Eagles, 6-5, on Sunday. The series win is the first for UWA since Mar. 7 when the Tigers swept Talladega College. Kevin Deese paced the Tigers offensively over the weekend. The Fosters, Ala.-junior posted a .400 batting average with a homerun and triple and tied for the team lead with three RBI.
AUM enters the midweek contest with a 12-16 record. The Senators have won three of their last four outing, including a series win over Brewton-Parker this weekend. AUM has posted a .290 batting average on the season.
This marks the second meeting between the Senators and UWA this season. The Tigers opened their season at AUM on Feb. 2 with a 4-3, come from behind win.
Following the midweek affair, West Alabama returns to Gulf South Conference action as UWA travels to Valdosta State for a three-game, weekend series.
