LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Seeking to snap a three-game losing skid, the University of West Alabama men's basketball team travels to Pensacola, Fla. to face West Florida in a pivotal Gulf South Conference contest. Tip-off on Wednesday, Feb. 16 is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN 104.9 FM and www.uwaathletics.com.

The Tigers (8-13, 3-5 GSC) have dropped three straight conference games to fall to fifth in the East Division. The top four teams from each division earn berths to the conference tournament in Southaven, Miss. – March 4-6.
UWA – which defeated the Argos 65-54 this season at Pruitt Hall - is looking for its first win in Pensacola since the 2007-08 season – a game the Red and White claimed 60-49 on Feb. 25. A win on Wednesday would give the Tigers their first season sweep of West Florida since the 1996-97 campaign.
Alquan Mendenhall leads the team in scoring with 13.6 points per game followed by
Ryan Fitch's 10.2 scoring average. In conference play, Mendenhall is posting 12.8 per game while Fitch is averaging 10.6 along with 11.4 from
Richard Dixon.
Korielle Beavers and Dixon are leading the Red and White in rebounds in GSC action with 5.9. Fitch and
Paul Mitchell are each hovering around 5.5 rebounds per game.
UWF (8-14, 1-7 GSC) enters looking to snap a skid of its own. The Argos - who has fallen in their last two outings - has claimed only one victory since the turn of the new year – that coming on Feb. 3 in a 77-61 win over West Georgia. The win over the Wolves ended a six-game streak for UWF. Mike Lewis and Jamar Moore are each averaging 14 points per game to lead the Argos. Moore is the catalyst on the glass for the Argos with 7.5 per outing.
Following the contest on Wednesday, West Alabama travels to North Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 19. Tip-off at UNA is scheduled for 3 p.m.
