LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
Playing its second school from the Sunshine State Conference in as many weeks, the University of West Alabama baseball team will host No. 24 Nova Southeastern for a four-game set. Friday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for noon for Saturday's Super Tiger Day twin billing.

The Tigers enter the weekend with a 5-6 record on the season, while NSU owns a 7-3 mark.

Following a strong performance in last weekend's split with Lynn, Jay Jennings goes into the series with the Sharks as West Alabama's leader offensively. The Munford, Tenn., native has compiled a team-best .364 average at the plate, and his nine RBI rank second as does his six walks.

Kevin Deese and Micah Reaves are tied for the team lead in driving in runs as both have recorded ten, and that duo is joined by Colin McKeen as all have two homers.

Continuing his strong work on the mound last week against Lynn by picking up his third straight win to open the season, Jeb Huber has positioned himself as the leader of the UWA pitching staff. He racked up six strikeouts in throwing eight innings of scoreless ball while improving to 3-0 on the season in his start against the Fighting Knights.

The Ponchatoula, La., native has struck out a team-high 13 on the year.

The 24th-ranked Sharks fell in a close game to in-state foe Florida Tech in a midweek game on Tuesday, but this past weekend they took two of three from defending Gulf South Conference champion Valdosta State.

Haven Fitzsimmonds and his .440 batting average is on top of a group of three NSU players that are hitting better than .375 on the year. Hitting .436, Andrew Durden is tops on the Nova side with 13 runs scored, while Areo Regoli has a team-high 14 RBI to go along with his .389 average.

NSU features a pair of strong starters as Nick Avila and Isaac Hicks as the pair have combined for a 3-0 start to the season. Avila has a 1.26 ERA and 10 strikeouts, while Hicks has punched out a team-best 16 en route to compiling a 1.96 ERA.
