LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
The University of West Alabama baseball team will wrap up the 2011 season when it welcomes No. 1 West Florida to town for a three-game set that starts with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers own an 18-20 (4-13 Gulf South Conference) record while UWF comes in at 40-5 (15-2 GSC).

The series will wrap on Sunday with a 1 p.m. contest, and the Red and White will honor its eight seniors on that day.

Ladarrius Cole currently sits on top of the West Alabama offensive ledger with a .364 average as he has been consistent at the plate all season. Brian Simone sits on Cole's heels as he is hitting .361 while driving in a team-best 38 runs on the year.

The UWA pitching staff features a 3.94 ERA going into the contest and is led by Jeb Huber with his 2.49 ERA and 54 strikeouts.

The pair of Simone and Cole swung the hottest bats when UWA was swept by the Argos in Pensacola, Fla., earlier this season. Each notched four hits as Simone also collected a pair of doubles.

The Argos have won four straight after seeing their 22-game winning streak ended by Alabama in Huntsville on April 16.

The squad hits at an impressive .345 while its pitching staff has limited opponents to just a .222 average. Greg Pron leads the way with a .439 average and 52 RBI, and the trio of Jason Postill, Daniel Vargas-Villa, and Ben Hawkins all features a sub-3.00 ERA and have combined for 30 wins on the mound.

Hawkins tossed UWF's second no-hitter in the program's NCAA era against the Tigers in a seven-inning game on April 9.

All three games will be carried on ESPN 104.9 FM, and live stats and a video webcast will be available at www.uwaathletics.com.
