The Tigers enter this week after splitting a pair of GSC games in the conference weekend opener. After playing No. 17 Alabama-Huntsville to an 11-point game, the Red and White led by as many as 20 over UNA, before taking an 87-80 win over the Lions this past Saturday.
Part of UWA's success as of late has been the play of newcomer
Steven Samuels and the resurgence of junior center
Darrion Booker. Both players scored 20 points in the contest against UNA, while Booker added 13 rebounds for his first double-double. Samuels has scored 42 total points in two games and was just one rebound and three assists away from a triple-double against the Lions.
Christian Brothers enters Thursday night's affair hoping to build on an 11-2 season and a strong 2-0 start in GSC play. The Bucs picked up big wins over the weekend, defeating West Florida and Valdosta State by a combined five points.
On Saturday, the Tigers will play a Delta State team that has struggled in the early going of the 2012 season. The Statesmen sit at 4-8 on the year, 0-2 in the GSC, and will play No. 25 West Georgia Thursday evening before facing the Red and White.
Following Saturday's contest, UWA travels to Montgomery, Ala., for a midweek game against Auburn-Montgomery on Monday. Tip time for that contest is slated for 7 p.m.
