Tiger Football Announces Spring Game; Crawfish and Shrimp Boil After Game

LIVINGSTON, Ala. -- The University of West Alabama football team has announced Saturday, Apr. 14 for its spring game at Tiger Stadium starting at 10 a.m. The Tigers are tentatively scheduled to begin spring practice on Monday, Mar. 12. In conjunction with the spring game, the Athletic Department will hold a crawfish boil following the spring game at Noon. Plates can be purchased for $12.

Head Coach Will Hall's 2012 squad will see the return of six of the program's record 13 All-Gulf South Conference performers from a season ago, including the Defensive Player of the Year Deon Lacey and the Freshman Offensive Player of the Year Kyle Caldwell. Hall was also tabbed Co-Coach of the Year in the conference. Joining the duo are first team selections Matt Willis, Gabe Poe and Ryne Smith and second teamers Andy Nations and Otha Foster.

West Alabama is coming on an 8-4 record this past season, including hosting a NCAA Division II playoff first round game - the first in the program's history.

West Alabama opens the 2012 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Clark Atlanta.
