LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Looking to snap a three-game losing skid, the University of West Alabama men's basketball team (6-16, 3-6 GSC) entertains No. 10 Christian Brothers (17-3, 8-1 GSC) Thursday evening at Pruitt Hall. Tip is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Fans who join the Tigers at Pruitt Hall Thursday will have a chance to sign up for the EconoLodge Inn and Suites $10,000 Shootout. One lucky fan's name will be drawn from the stack and will have 25 seconds to make a layup, free-throw, and three-point shot.
West Alabama enters the contest after a tough week on the road in the Gulf South Conference. UWA fell to No. 6 Alabama-Huntsville on Thursday before tripping up against UNA, 65-56, on Saturday afternoon in Florence, Ala.
Most of UWA's recent struggles in conference play have come in large part on the offensive end. After averaging near 80 points per game in the first six GSC matchups, the Tigers have averaged just 49 points per contest in their last three.
West Alabama is led by four players that average in double figures. Leading the way is point guard
Steven Samuels who is averaging 15.9 points per outing. Junior center
Darrion Booker is the team's leading rebounder with 5.5 per game.
