CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lee University hit .262 attack percentage while holding the University of West Alabama to .109 to sweep the Tigers 3-0 in Gulf South Conference volleyball action Saturday.
Lee remains in eighth place in the GSC standings at 6-9; 9-16 overall. West Alabama stays one game ahead of Lee in seventh place at 7-9; 9-17 overall. The Flames attacked early with .333 percentage in set one to win 25-12. The Tigers fought back but dropped the last two 25-21 in each set.
Lauren Williams led Lee, hitting .524 with 13 of her squads 42 kills. Stephanie Hernandez and Sarah Davis led the defense, combining for 32 digs, limiting the Tigers to 26 kills.
Morgan Ray and
Elizabeth Culhane combined for 12 kills to lead UWA.
Callie Murphy supported the attack with 21 assists.
Sadie Beam and
Jessica Voyles led the defense. Beam totaled 14 digs and Voyles assisted with three blocks.
West Alabama volleyball will travel to Pensacola, Fla. on Friday to take on the GSC opponent West Florida at 6 p.m. The Argonauts are currently second in the league at 11-3; 18-6 overall.Â
