JACKSON, Tenn. - Junior defender
Alex Brown lifted the University of West Alabama men's soccer team to a 1-0 Gulf South Conference victory over Union University Friday with a goal on a corner kick in the 78
th minute.
West Alabama improves to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the GSC, while Union drops to 1-6 and 0-3.
Brown scored off of his only shot of the match, marking his third goal of the season; first game winner.
Brian Meadows took the corner kick that led to the goal.

Lavares Stone tallied his second shutout of the season to improve to 5-1. He tallied six saves through 11 shots faced. Matt Kesler completed four saves in eight shots to fall to 0-1 in the net for the Bulldogs.
Emmanuel Mondestin tallied two of the Tigers five shots on-goal.
Men's soccer remain on the road to take on GSC opponent Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn. at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Tigers currently sit tied with the Buccaneers for second place in the conference standings.
