MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Brendan Bennett scored in the 76
th minute to lead Christian Brothers University to a 1-0 victory over the University of West Alabama in Gulf South Conference men's soccer action Sunday.
Christian Brothers improves to the top of the GSC standings at 3-1 and 7-2 overall. West Alabama dips to fourth place at 2-2 and 5-5.
Bennett's game winning goal came off of a pass from Kevin Tikhomiroff. The Tigers were 4-for-13 shots on-goal, while the Buccaneers finished 5-for-16.
Bennett ended 3-for-3 shots on-goal.

Emmanuel Mondestin,
Vitor Gazza and
Patrick Carroll each posted one shot on goal for the Tigers.
CBU goalkeeper Britton McGuire improved to 6-2 with his third shutout of the season.
Lavares Stone completed four saves, but drops to 5-2.
West Alabama men's soccer returns home to take on GSC opponent Lee University Friday in Tiger Stadium at 7:30 p.m. The Flames enter the match 6-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the conference, having defeated Spring Hill College 3-0 on Sunday and tied West Florida 0-0 on Friday.
