JACKSON, Tenn. –University of West Alabama senior
Lydia Sutcliffe scored two goals in the Tiger's 4-1 Gulf South Conference women's soccer victory over Union University Friday. UWA's win streak stay's active and improves to eight.
West Alabama moves to 8-1 overall and remains the last unbeaten team in GSC play at 4-0. Union drops to 2-5 and 0-3. Â
Sutcliffe's first goal put the Tigers up 1-0 in the 15
th minute, while her second came in the 73
rd minute. Her two scores doubles her season total and gives her 21 in her career, trailing only
Nicki Gears as the program's leading scorer.
Kristen Reilly tallied her second game winning goal of the year in the 31
st minute, as Union's Kayleigh Patterson opened the second half with a goal in the 54
th. Reilly added an assist on Sutcliffe's opening goal.
With 15 minutes remaining,
Lauren Tate cemented the victory converting on a penalty kick; her first of the season.
UWA led Union 11-2 in shots with four of the Tiger's shots belonging to
Nicola Gibson. Gibson ended the night 2-for-4 shots on goal, while Sutcliffe, Reilly and Tate all ended with perfect shot on-goal percentages.

Issy Foster improves to 6-1 in the goal. Kristen Francis falls to 1-5 in the net for the Bulldogs.
