AUBURN, Ala. – The nation's returning leading scorer, Antoine Mason along with KT Harrell combined for 43 points to lead Auburn University to 94-58 victory over the University of West Alabama in exhibition play Friday in Auburn Arena.

The game featured two head coaching debuts; West Alabama's Allen Sharpe and Auburn University's Bruce Pearl.

The UWA Tigers shot 42 percent from the field (8-of-19) in the first half to trail 42-30 at the half. The Auburn offense took over in the second half, shooting 48 percent (20-of-42) and scoring 24 unanswered points.

Turnovers proved costly for the West Alabama as Auburn totaled 36 points on 29 turnovers. The UWA bench did its part, racking up 33 points, while Auburn's bench finished with 23.

West Alabama newcomers and reserves, Charles Eaton and Carroll Terrance, led the offense. Eaton posted 11 points; Carroll tallied nine. Kenric McCants and Mayo Dakari led the rebounding effort with five boards each.

UWA Men's Hoops will open the 2014-15 regular season Nov. 15 where last season left off in the NCAA Tournament in Lakeland, Fla. The Tigers will take on Florida Southern College at 4 p.m.

The game is the first of six straight road tests, which include the GCI Alaska Invitational in Fairbanks, Alaska Nov. 20-22 and Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tenn. on Nov. 29. West Alabama will then open its home season Dec. 1 against Miles College in Pruitt Hall at 7:30 p.m.
