LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Four West Alabama Tigers posted double-digit scoring figures to defeat West Florida 73-59 in Gulf South Conference men's basketball action at Pruitt Hall Saturday.
West Alabama is perfect in all of its five home games so far this season and improves to 10-7 overall; 5-4 in the GSC. West Florida falls to 6-9 and 2-7.

Justin Wright and
Charles Eaton led UWA with 12 points each, while Kenirc McCants tallied 11. All of Eaton came off the bench to help the Tigers outscore the Argonauts 20-13 bench points.
UWA overcame being held to only three total 3-point field goals, all of which in the first half, by leading 42-22 points in the paint. The Tigers finished 27-for-56 from the field, while the defense held UWF to 24-for-58.
The defense was led by
Dakari Mayo with three blocks, three steals and eight total rebounds; five on defense.
"It was a struggle for quite a while, but we were able to make some big plays and big free throws down the stretch," said UWA head coach
Allen Sharpe.
"We did a good job defensively. Anytime we can hold them to 50 or 60 points, then we feel like we have the opportunity to win. They didn't hurt us on the boards, which is one of their major strengths offensively. Overall our guys just did an excellent job executing the game plan."
Terrence Townes led West Florida's offense with 13 points, while Deangelo Legrier finished with 10 points and 10 boards.
West Alabama remains at home and in GSC action to face Valdosta State on Monday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Pruitt Hall.
