WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic eliminated West Alabama in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Regional Tournament 2-0 at Rinker Athletic Campus Saturday.
Palm Beach Atlantic improves to 16-1-1 overall and will advance to the next round to face Rollins College. West Alabama ends its storied season as Gulf South Conference regular season and tournament champions with a record of 10-7-2.

"Every one of them worked so hard for each other throughout the season. We created history with back-to-back GSC Championships and by making the NCAA Tournament for the first time. I want to give a special thanks to all of our seniors who helped build the foundation and set a legacy since our inaugural season in 2012."
Oscar Farias scored the game-winner for the Sailfish in the 25
th minute on a shot from the left side of UWA's box. Jermaine Metz delivered the assist.
In the second half, Lucas Coutinho cemented victory with a goal off his left foot into the far corner of the net. Tom Gavin picked up the assist.
The Tigers matched PBA shot-for-shot in the first half, but the Sailfish edged out a slight advantage in the second half, leading the overall shot count 10-9.
Brian Meadows led UWA with 2-of-3 shots on-goal.
Steeven Raymont (14-1) picked up his fourth shutout of the year in the net with three saves, while Brian Louis (5-5) made two stops to take the loss.
