"Obviously, nobody likes to lose, especially in the fashion we lost today," said Coach
Will Atkinson. "It's early in the season, we've got two series under our belt and an opportunity to play much more GSC softball."
Alli Hall (5-5) took the game one loss pitching all six innings and giving up eight hits.
Giana Cavallaro (1-2) received the decision in game two going less than an inning and giving up four hits
"All we can do is prepare this week. You can tip your hats to the folks at West Georgia. They came out with a game plan and were able to execute," said Atkinson. "They swung the bats well and we just have to make the adjustment as we go on the road next week to play North Alabama."
Danielle Easterly (4-4) pitched five innings in the game one victory and gave up six hits. Katie Shultes (3-2) came in for one inning of relief in game one and collected the game two victory only giving up three hits between both appearances.
"It's tough playing on the road. It's tough in the GSC, but there are no weekends off here. We just have to keep battling and find a way to make something positive happen next week," Atkinson said.
West Alabama will return to action next Saturday with a GSC weekend series against North Alabama in Florence. First pitch of the series is set for 2 p.m.
