LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The game time for the University of West Alabama baseball home opener has been shifted to 3 p.m. on Friday from the original 1 p.m. start time to help accommodate travel for the Palm Beach Atlantic team.

The Tigers and the Sailfish will begin a three-game series at Tartt Field with Friday's game at 3 p.m. Single games on Saturday and Sunday are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and noon CST, respectively.

West Alabama comes into the series looking to get back on track after dropping three games at No. 12 Columbus State last weekend. Palm Beach Atlantic opens it season today at home against Lynn University.

Catcher Jack Cockrum was 4-for-12 (.333) at the plate in the series against CSU. Right-handed pitcher Fernando Gonzalez comes into the home opening series with a 1.50 earned run average, allowing a run on six hits in a no decision last Saturday. Reliever Brandon Pennington did not allow a run in three innings of work against the Cougars.
