UWA Men's Hoops Earn Second Straight Trip to NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of West Alabama men's basketball team will face the University of West Georgia for the fourth time this season, this time in the first round of the 2015 NCAA South Region Tournament in Lakeland, Fla., on March 14. It will be the second consecutive appearance in the tournament by the Tigers for the first time in program history.

West Alabama is 22-11 overall and enter regional play as the No. 5 seed. West Georgia is 21-8 and the No. 4 seed. The Wolves fell to the Tigers 91-85 in the Gulf South Conference tournament their last time out.

The No. 1 team in the nation, Florida Southern will host the regional portion of the tournament as the No. 1 seed. They will face No. 8 Benedict out of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The south bracket also features two more GSC representatives, including the league tournament champions Alabama Huntsville as the No. 3 seed. The Chargers will face No.6 Lynn, while No. 7 Union will take on No. 2 Barry.
