Tiger-Argo Baseball Shifted to Sunday, Monday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Due to expected inclement weather in the Livingston area this weekend, the three-game Gulf South Conference baseball series between No. 12 West Alabama and West Florida will be shifted to Sunday and Monday.
 
Weather permitting, the Tigers and the Argonauts will now play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, followed by a single game on Monday at 1 p.m. Adjustments to game times could be adjusted to accommodate evolving weather conditions.
 
The recognition ceremonies and activities for the 2005 UWA GSC Championship team have also been shifted to next weekend's doubleheader against Alabama Huntsville on April 25-26.
 
West Alabama comes into the series riding the longest win streak in the nation at 18 games. The Tigers are 29-8 overall and 21-5 in GSC play. West Florida is 25-14 and 18-9.
 
The top two pitching staffs in the conference will face off in this series. West Alabama leads the league with a combined 2.71 earned run average, with opponents hitting just .231 against Tiger pitching. UWF pitchers had a combined 3.18 ERA and opponents are hitting just .241 against the Argos.
 
All three games will be broadcast live in the Twin States on ESPN 104.9 and globally on www.espn1049.com.
