JACKSON, Tenn. – The University of West Alabama men's soccer defense survived a borage of shots by Upper Iowa University to tie 0-0 in double-overtime on a neutral pitch Friday. The Peacocks outshot the Tigers 21-8.
West Alabama moves to 1-3-1 overall on the season. Upper Iowa, who received 15 votes in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll, remains undefeated at 4-0-1.

Joshua Bramwell (0-0-1) picked up the shutout in his first start as a Tiger. He set his season high, as well as the most single game saves of all West Alabama keepers this year, by making 11 stops in the net. Connor Rortvedt (4-0-1) finished with three saves for Upper Iowa.
UIU were led by Logan Dahnert, Rafael Pedroso and Leandro Pena with each recording two shots on-goal.

Alex Brown each accounted for one of the three on-goal shots by West Alabama.
The Peacocks came out early with six of its 10 shots in the first half landing on frame, while limiting UWA to two shots with one on-goal. Upper Iowa continued its shot lead into the second half at 7-5, and led 4-1 on shots through both overtime periods.
"I'm proud of the lads and how they stepped up through adversity tonight," said UWA head coach
Matthew Thorne. "We played a man down for 35 minutes without conceding a goal against a quality side. This is still a good result for us. We will look to recover and focus on Sunday's game but we will have a lot of positives to take away from this."
The Tigers remain on the road to face Cumberland University on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Cumberland, Tenn.
