MONTEVALLO, Ala.— Liam Ireland scored his third and fourth goals of the season to give the West Alabama Tigers enough room to claim a 2-0 victory over the Montevallo Falcons Sunday night.
The Tigers improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Gulf South Conference play with the win while the hosting Falcons fell to 4-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in GSC competition.

Liam Ireland came up big with two goals."
Ireland's first goal came on a successful penalty kick with 34:36 passed in the match. The senior midfielder followed that with a goal at the 59:22 mark with assists from
Ali Brador and
Jean-Baptiste Meyniel to give UWA the 2-0 final advantage.

UWA's offense came out aggressive and outshot the Falcons 22-13 in the road match. Ireland led the Tiger charge with seven total shots in the late evening contest.
Brad Louis came away with six saves to preserve a clean sheet for the Tigers.
West Alabama returns to action Friday once more on the road in Cleveland, Miss. to take on Delta State in a key GSC match starting at 3 p.m. Montevallo travels to Union University for a road match on Oct. 6.
