Tigers fall on the road to West Florida, 3-1

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Alabama Tigers battled tough with the West Florida Argonauts, but in the end the Tigers fell 3-1 on the road in Gulf South Conference action.
 
UWA falls to 15-10 overall and 7-2 in GSC play. UWF improves to 20-6 overall and maintains first place in the conference with a 10-0 record.
 
The Tigers took the first set 28-26 before the Argos came back to win the second set 25-15, captured a fiercely contested third 30-28 and finally won the fourth set and game 25-15.
 
Three UWA attackers registered double digit kills as Taylor Donato led with 14 while Briana Sandifer and McKaidan Moore both finished with 13. Kassie Till passed 41 assists to keep the offense moving.
 
Elizabeth Carter led defensively with 20 digs, followed by Sandifer with 18 and Till with 15. Sandifer registered four blocks on the front line.
 
Rachel Neblett led UWF with 14 kills while Monique StCyr passed 51 assists.
 
The Tigers return to action in Pruitt Hall on Friday, Oct. 27 against the Chargers of the University of Alabama in Huntsville starting at 6 p.m. West Florida will take to the road to face Shorter in Rome, Ga. that same day.
