Sandifer Makes Most of Senior Night in 3-1 UWA Victory

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – It was senior night for the University of West Alabama volleyball team and Briana Sandifer wasn't just the lone senior on the Tiger roster, but she was also in a class all by herself while leading UWA to a 3-1 Gulf South Conference win over Auburn-Montgomery at Pruitt Hall Gym Friday.
 
Sandifer posted a .432 attack percentage with a match-high 18 kills as West Alabama notched a 25-23, 25-17, 19-25, 25-17 win. She had just two errors in 37 total attacks.
 
"It has been my experience that on senior night the seniors always seem to show up," UWA head coach Alexis Meeks said. "Briana was no exception to that tonight. She was really good."
 
West Alabama improved to 19-12 overall, 11-4 in Gulf South Conference matches. AUM is 9-20 overall and 1-14 in GSC play.
 
 "Taylor Donato has been consistent for the last month and she was again tonight," Meeks said. "Everyone stepped up tonight. It was literally a full team effort."
 
Donato posted a .375 attack percentage, collecting 11 kills with just two errors in 24 total attacks. The Tigers hit .374 for the match.
 
Jordyn Beans had 32 assists and Kassie Till 18 more for the Tigers, while Rebecca Johnson had 20 digs.
 
Brianna Garvin had 16 kills and Kheala Roberts 11 more to lead AUM. Carly Smart recorded 40 assists, while Jaylyn Felder and Haley Toler each had 13 digs.
 
West Alabama closes its regular season at Alabama-Huntsville Saturday at 3 p.m. AUM plays at Christian Brothers at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
