Tigers drop road game to Lane College, Robinson goes for 17 and 18

JACKSON, Tenn. – Despite a strong performance from senior Gavin Robinson who notched a double-double, the West Alabama Tigers fell on the road to the Lane College Dragons 79-70 in men's college basketball action.
 
UWA falls to 3-2 on the young season while Lane captures its first win of the year to move to 1-1.
 
Robinson went for 17 points and 18 rebounds to go along with a block to lead the Tigers. Reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week Charles Eaton lead all scorers with 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. Josh Fleming finished with 12 points, two steals and two rebounds.
 
Points in the paint made all the difference in this contest as the Dragons won the category 26-16 over UWA.
 
Kendarius Ash scored 16 points and grabbed 13 boards to lead Lane. James Caldwell also scored 16 and Ai'Shontis Sanders scored 14 to round out double-digit scorers for the LC.
 
The Tigers return to action Friday in Daytona Beach, Fla against Wingate as part of the 2017 Bahama House Shootout. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
