LIVINGSTON, Ala. – On the heels of losing three of four games last week, the University of West Alabama baseball team has slipped to the No. 8 spot in the weekly National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division II South Region rankings. UWA was ranked No. 6 last week.

After defeating West Florida, 7-5, on Sunday, West Alabama (25-13) looks to keep the ship sailing in the right direction when William Carey (27-11) visits Tartt Field Tuesday for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.

The Tigers and Crusaders have already met once this season, with UWA taking a 7-2 win in Hattiesburg on March 22. William Carey is 5-5 since that meeting, while West Alabama is 7-4.

Taylor Stafford drove in four runs and hit his sixth home run in the first meeting between the Crusaders and Tigers. Leighton Lary (2-1) picked up the pitching win in relief of starter Colton Morgan.
