LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Due to expected inclement weather later in the weekend, the date and time for the single game of this weekend's three-game Gulf South Conference baseball series between West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville has been changed.

The Tigers and Chargers will now play a single game Friday at 4 p.m. at Tartt Field. The scheduled doubleheader will still be played Saturday with first pitch at 2 p.m.

West Alabama will honor 12 seniors with a ceremony prior to Saturday's first game. Those seniors include catcher Tyler Lee, third baseman Marcus Morrisette, shortstop Joel Murphy, second baseman Dylan Little, first baseman Josh Winingham, center fielder Nick Delgado and infielder Marcus Dicenzo, along with pitchers Jonathan Porter, pitcher Brady Badon, pitcher Brennan Catalano, pitcher Seth Holbert and Evan Miller.

Between games of the doubleheader, the new digital scoreboard at Tartt Field will be dedicated and renamed the "Hoss Bowlin Scoreboard at Tartt Field in honor of former Tiger baseball coach Weldon "Hoss" Bowlin (1973-86).

Saturday's doubleheader is also the final installment of the 2017 Hit for the Cycle Challenge. One lucky Tiger baseball fan who is also registered for the Big Mike's 50-50 giveaway will win $10,000 should a UWA player hit for the cycle in either game of the twinbill.

West Alabama comes into the series with a 30-16 overall record, 19-10 in GSC play. Alabama Huntsville is 21-23 and 14-16. Along with Delta State, North Alabama and Union, the Tigers have already clinched a spot in the GSC Tournament that gets underway Saturday, May 6 at the home facility of the regular season winner.
