Tigers Dive Into GSC Baseball Championship Tourney Pool Play Against MC

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama baseball team will be the No. 2 seed in the 2017 Gulf south Conference Baseball Championship and will open postseason play against No. 7 Mississippi College at 5 p.m. Saturday at Dave "Boo" Ferris Field on the campus of Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
 
The Tigers (32-17, 21-11) will be meeting the Choctaws (20-25, 15-17) for the fourth time this season. UWA swept MC in a three-game series Feb. 25-26 in Livingston.
 
In the new pool play format for the tournament, every team guaranteed three games leading into a one-game championship contest on Tuesday, May 9 at 6 p.m.
 
West Alabama will play No. 6 West Florida at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and No. 3 North Alabama Monday, May 8 at 1:30 p.m.
 
The winner from the other pool, consisting of top-seeded Delta State, Union, Valdosta State and Alabama Huntsville, will play the winner of the Tigers pool for the championship.
 
All West Alabama games are scheduled to be carried live on ESPN 104.9 in the Twin States area and will also be available via the ESPN1049 App or at www.espn1049.com. To view the entire GSC Championship bracket go HERE.
 
Daily pass prices for each day of the tournament are $8 for adults, $5 for children age 6-17, $5 for students (with GSC Student ID) and FREE for children 5 and under.
