Moore Leads Tigers Tuskegee, 3-0

FLORENCE, Ala. –Freshman McKaidan Moore had 11 kills, six digs and three blocks to lead West Alabama to a 3-0 college volleyball victory over Tuskegee Friday at Flowers Hall in the first day of the UNA Volleyball Classic.

The victory improved West Alabama to 5-4. Tuskegee dropped to 0-7.

"That wasn't quite the way we wanted to come out in our first match, but we pulled through against a very scrappy Tuskegee team," UWA head coach Alexis Meeks said. "I'm trying to get my girls to understand that it's not just about winning and losing, it's about showing up consistently.

"I know once we can do that we are going to be a very tough team to compete against," Meeks said. "We got to work on some things we have been working on this week and we are excited to compete against our first GSC team tonight."

West Alabama plays Union in its second match of the day at 7 p.m. Tuskegee plays Dillard at 5 p.m.

Jaime Lancellot and Briana Sandifer followed McKaidan with nine and eight kills, respectively, as West Alabama posted a .305 hitting percentage with 38 kills. Tuskegee had just 14 kills in the three sets and posted a -0.09 hitting percentage.

Kassie Till and Jordyn Beans combined for 30 assists, with Till dishing out 18. Alex Fueling had 11 dogs to lead the Tigers.
